The team concept is one of the most important requirements for hospice services. Many times we talk about the “core services” meaning, the physician, nursing, medical social worker, counseling services (bereavement, nutritional and spiritual), and last but not least our home health aides and volunteers. Additional non-core services are physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology. It is also a must to include the many behind the scene team members, the governing body/administration, and clerical.
